SOMETIMES/SOMETIME有時

Sometimesadverb(副詞),意思是 on some occasionsbut not all,等於中文「有時、偶爾」, 例句:

He can be rather difficult sometimes

Sometime,最後沒有 s,也是 adverb,意思是 at some uncertain or unstated time,等於中文「某一時侯」, 例句:

I’ll see you sometime next week

He was born sometime in 1960

I’ll need some time to do this

some =全沒有、全不,

例一:

A:You’lI get a big rise next year。

B:Some hope!(有些希望啦!)

例二:

A:Lend me $100。

B : No。

A : Some friend you are!

It was some party!

例二: That was some storm!

SundayMondayTuesdayThursdayFridaySaturday,(Yesterday , Tomorrow), WeekMonthYearJanuaryFebruaryMarchAprilMayJuneJulyAugustSeptemberOctoberNovemberDecember

I saw him yesterday

I’ll see him tomorrow

1.

I saw him in yesterday

2.

I saw him in last week

3.

I’ll see him in next week

4.

I met him on last Monday

5.

I’m going to work hard in this year

The president said Monday he would be going to Moscow Friday

這種變化,英國人不大願意接受,他們多數堅持 said on Mondaygoing to Moscow on Friday

She sang happily

He resigned sadly

After receiving the prize’ he smiled thankfully

Happilywith happiness in a happy way

Sadlywith sadnessin a sad way

Thankfullyfull of thanksin a thankful way

1.

Happilythe talks will resume soon

2.

Sadlythe talks ended

3.

Thankfullyit did not rain yesterday

1.

The talks will resume happily soon

2.

The talks ended sadly

3.

It did not rain thankfully yesterday

原來,happilywe are happeyit is a happy thingsadlywe are sadit was a sad thingthankfullywe are thankful或we were thankful

We are happythatthe talks will resume soon。

We are sadthatthe talks ended。

We are thankfulthatit did not rain yesterday。

Presumably you have seen the notice。presume that you have seen the notice

They were apparently unhappy with our offer。It was apparent that they were unhappy with our offer。

Mercifully the war ended。=lt was a merciful thing that the war ended

Hope 作動詞及名詞都是「希望」;hopeful 是形容詞,等於 full of hopehopefully 是副詞,等於 in a hopeful way

To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive。

The hungry child looked hopefully at his mother。

1.

Hopefully it will not rain tomorrow

2.

Hopefully the talks will resume soon

在這兩句中,hopefully 都不修飾動詞,因為 rain hopefully(充滿希望地下雨)及 resume hopefully(充滿希望地重開)都說不通。Hopefully 不外是 it is hoped 的簡化詞罷了:

It is hoped(或 we hopeit will not rain tomorrow

It is hoped the talks will resume soon

We will begin the new term hopefully in September

We hope to begin the new term in September

HERE,THERE[這裡/那裡]

I was an old boy of XXX colleage studied in there for seven years

I am an old boy of XXX

I was a student of XXX,因為 student「學生」身分早在他離校當天終止。

第二錯是 in there

Therein at to that placehereinatto this place。例如:

go therethere is some rain(=從來不說的 some rain is there);they were there

Come herehere is some money (=從來不說的 some money is here); they are here

Studied there 等於 studied at that placestudied in that place, 因此,說 studied in there 無異把 in 的意思重複了,而且,在 preposition(介詞)in 後,there 必須是名詞。

There 作名詞是 that place,例句:

He got out of there

He lived near there

I studied there for seven years

1.

I’ve been sitting here for two hours

2.

I’ve been sitting in here for two hours

1.

He’s there

2.

He’s in there

3.

I’m here

4.

I’m in here

5.

In therein here 聽來都可能是指房間。

6.

He got out of there

7.

He got out there。
